Piezocryst was formed in 2003 as a spin-off from AVL, a leading engineering services provider for the automotive industry. Almost 50 years of know-how in sensor development were transferred into the new company, enabling rapid growth as an integrated sensor company. To further fuel this growth, Piezocryst heavily invests in its people, R&D and manufacturing capacities.

Today, our outstanding position is based on a workforce that is specialized in fine mechanics, precision manufacturing and crystal engineering, making us an industry leader in piezoelectric sensors worldwide.

Piezocryst offers sensors for different applications across many industries, including automotive, plastics, turbine and large engine, among others. We create solutions for OEM customers, in close cooperation with our distribution partners or in direct interaction with customers. To gain total customer satisfaction, we develop technologically advanced niche products, as well as, cost efficient high volume products.

To further strengthen our current technological position we focus a lot of our resources on R&D. In addition to our in-house research projects we participate in a number of national and international projects exploring different aspects of sensor technology, including manufacturing, resonant applications and high temperature resistant sensors.
