Hottinger Baldwin Messtechnik GmbH and Piezocryst are Forming a Cooperation Regarding Piezoelectic Force Sensors for Industrial Applications

Piezocryst and HBM announced recently an alliance in development and distribution of piezoelectric force sensors for industrial production monitoring. In this cooperation Piezocryst develops and manufactures dynamic force sensors, which are distributed exclusively under the HBM label. For the market, this alliance offers a greater selection from the extended technology portfolio and custom-made solutions with proven HBM quality.

The first product line of force sensors has been presented at the ”Sensor & Test”. The sensors cover maximum force ranges up to 120kN and offer all advantages of the piezoelectric measuring technique: direct, high-dynamic measurements with extreme robustness in compact sizes. The sensors are available with an individually matched and calibrated charge amplifier. They can be integrated into existing data acquisition systems by TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet).

As a special feature the sensors provide a "zoom function", which enables the monitoring of critical process steps in higher resolution at any selected point. This unique zoom function comes pre-calibrated, which is technically realised by using a second TEDS chip. The zoom function also enables the system to reroute overload critical processes with demanding requirements in a safe manner.
