New In-cylinder Pressure Sensors for Thermo-Dynamic Analysis Available
Thermo-dynamic testing of combustion engines demands the highest standards of precision from the sensors used, given that the smallest error in measurement can have a huge impact on calculated results.
This need for high precision under the harshest engine conditions has led to the development of two new sensors. Particular attention has been paid to minimal thermo-shock, as well as to excellent linearity with high nominal sensitivity.
The result is sensors with outstanding technical characteristics. The sensors possess, through the use of a single crystalline GaPO4, a temperature stability of up to 400°C. Thermo-shock failures, as well as load cycle drift could be greatly minimized once more through the use of the GaPO4 Piezo-material in combination with special constructive details like the patented crystal-match technology.
The new sensors, sold under the name GU22C and GG22C by AVL, set themselves apart solely in terms of their internal construction. The GG22C features a ground-insulated construction and is, therefore, ideal for use with amplifiers without galvanic isolation. The GU22C, on the other hand, is specifically for use on with amplifiers with galvanic isolation.
