with our second newsletter, we would like to take the opportunity to announce a number of exciting sensor developments and co-operations with our new partners. Together with our partner Vibro-Meter we present novel pressure transducers for condition monitoring in turbines.

Co-Operation on Gas Turbine Pressure Sensors

Piezocryst and the Swiss Vibro-Meter combined the strengths of both companies into one center of excellence offering superior monitoring solutions and services to the turbine community. Vibro-Meter offers its decades of application know-how in sensors and electronics, as well as its worldwide sales and service organization, while Piezocryst contributes its GaPO4 crystal technology and specific combustion analysis know-how.

New Sensor Family presented for Monitoring large Engines

After several years testing and evaluation, Piezocryst presented a new sensor family for the monitoring and controlling of large engines. These new sensors were developed in close cooperation with leading manufacturers of large engines and tested successfully over a long period of time.

Crystal Elements for Organizing Serial Numbers

AVL and Piezocryst have assigned themselves the task of integrating a sensor identification system into pressure sensors for combustion analysis, without changing the sensor size or the approved connection concept. Because these sensors are operated at temperatures up to 400°C, the use of electronics is excluded.

Another Award
for Piezocryst’s Research & Development

The company Piezocryst was honored in special festivities by the county of Steiermark in 2007 with an award in Nano Science and Nano Technology for its research & development activities on nano-functional, piezo-electric crystals.
