After several years testing and evaluation, Piezocryst presented a new sensor family for the monitoring and controlling of large engines. These new sensors were developed in close cooperation with leading manufacturers of large engines and tested successfully over a long period of time. Through highly precise measuring, as well as long-term stability properties, these sensors are extremely advantageous for precise control and monitoring of gas and fuel engines.
The new sensors have multiple innovations at their disposal, like the double shell casing or an inboard preload element. These innovations make our sensors not only the most precise, but also turn them into the safest onboard sensors on the market.
The combination of GaPO4 sensing elements with highly corrosion resistant materials sets a new standard for on-board sensors. Single crystalline GaPO4 sensing elements are characterized by high sensitivity, extreme robustness, as well as excellent thermal properties.
With these properties, the sensors are perfectly suited for permanent installation in engines; their accurate and long-term stable pressure signal facilitates matching the cylinders, runing the engine at optimal conditions even under changing fuel qualities and enables condition monitoring tasks for condition based maintenance.
The new senor family consists of sensors for M10 or M14 standard drill holes, as well as modular, variable elements to adjust to customer specific drill holes. All sensors are available with integrated amplifiers for charge or voltage output.
